Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teachers and Teacher Assistants to join our educational team at our 2 locations in Delmar on Delaware Avenue, servicing Bethlehem Universal Preschool students for the 26-27 school year. Appointed teachers will create curriculum aligned with the NYS preschool standards, assess students, direct assistant staff, communicate with parents, follow NYSED and OCFS regulations, while assistants will support the lead teachers in these roles. Teachers will need, preferably, teacher certification or be on a path for teacher certification, and meet lead teacher qualifications as required by NYS and OCFS regulations. Duties (Lead by teachers supported by TA's) Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with educational standards. Educate students in various subjects while promoting literacy education and critical thinking skills. Provide individualized support to students, including those with special education needs. Create a safe and welcoming classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and engagement. Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and staff to support each child's development. Utilize Montessori principles and techniques where applicable to enhance learning experiences. Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices. Skills Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices. Experience in tutoring or providing individualized instruction. Proficiency in curriculum development tailored for young learners. Ability to plan effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles. Familiarity with toddler care practices and daycare operations. Understanding of special education requirements and strategies for inclusion. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues. A passion for fostering a love of learning in children through creative teaching methods.
