ESSENTIAL CORE CHARACTERISTICS

Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her ability to ensure that students will achieve at the highest level on State and local assessments. Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her ability to work cooperatively with a grade level team and the entire staff. Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her positive attitude with students and adults. Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her ability to make meaningful connections with middle school aged children. Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her willingness to provide extra help. Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her willingness to participate in the school community outside of the classroom. Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her ability to infuse technology into the total instructional program. Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her ability to infuse character education into the total instructional program. Experience teaching elementary, grades K-6 Willing to participate in Professional Development Experience with the implementation of the Common Core Standards, NYSE, ELA and Math Modules and instructional strategies Experience implementing Common core aligned units, lesson and assessments Effective classroom management skills, demonstrated knowledge of the curriculum, including planning, execution, and evaluation of materials, supplies and lessons Strong math and literacy background Character traits necessary to teach young children•enthusiasm, warmth and dedication Ability to differentiate instruction Strong communication and teaming skills Lifelong learner
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Small group•Math/ELA Support Data analysis Record keeping•student progress Ability to plan instruction to meet student needs Ability to co-teach in "push-in" setting

District employees (Probationary and tenured teachers requesting a transfer within their current tenure area, Teaching Assistants who are currently fully certified in the appropriate tenure area ) may apply by submitting a letter of interest to Human Resources with a copy to the building principal. E-mailed letters of interest are not acceptable. The original signed letters of interest must be submitted by the end of the day on June 24, 2026.
External:
