Job Description

Join the Playful Learning team in East Hampton, NY! We are currently interviewing for part-time and/or full-time Preschool Assistant Teachers for our early childhood programs serving children ages 18 months to 5 years. Playful Learning is a warm, thoughtful, hands-on preschool environment where children are encouraged to explore, create, ask questions, and develop a lifelong love of learning. We are looking for kind, reliable, and enthusiastic assistant teachers who enjoy working with young children and want to be part of a supportive, collaborative teaching team. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who loves early childhood education and is eager to grow within a clear and meaningful teaching approach. Assistant teachers work alongside experienced educators to help bring the Playful Learning Method to life each day.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting the daily rhythm of the classroom Meaningfully engaging with young children through play, conversation, projects, and hands-on learning experiences Assisting with the preparation of educational projects, activities, lessons, and classroom materials Helping implement the Playful Learning curriculum under the guidance of the teaching team Supporting children's social-emotional development with warmth, patience, and respect Supervising children and helping maintain a safe, calm, and nurturing classroom environment Maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting work and play space for children Collaborating with teachers and staff to support a positive school culture Communicating professionally and kindly with children, families, and team members Qualifications include: Experience working with young children A warm, energetic, and enthusiastic presence Reliability, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit Respect for young children and an understanding of their developmental needs CPR certification, or willingness to become certified A willingness to learn and further develop your teaching practice Early childhood education coursework or related experience is a plus, but not required We are looking for someone who is dependable, caring, curious, and excited to make a positive difference in the lives of local children and families.
