Job Description

The Glens Falls City School District has anticipated openings for a 10-month, 6.5 hour -per-day Teaching Assistant.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibility of the Teaching Assistant is to provide a structured learning experience and atmosphere in the classrooms assigned. Teaching Assistants will be expected to cover in the teacher's absence and provide structured learning experience.

Specific duties include:

assisting with activities, supervising the children, maintaining the classroom and other areas, assisting in developing good health standards and appropriate social habits, and filling in for other staff as needed.

Job Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma and New York State Teacher Assistant Certification required.

PERSONAL QUALITIES

Capacity to manage multiple responsibilities and competing demands. Demonstrated ability to work in a calm and respectful manner. Maintain a positive, encouraging attitude to motivate others. The candidate must enjoy working with children.
