PM Salary:
$ 27,471 TA Step 1 Description of Position Veronica E. Connor Middle School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Teaching Assistant to support students with disabilities in 6th grade inclusive Science and Social Studies classrooms. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with special education teachers, general education teachers, and related service providers to help students access grade-level curriculum, build academic skills, and achieve success in the classroom.
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS Certification in Teaching Assistant required; Special Education or Students with Disabilities preferred
Qualifications Desired:
1. Experience working with middle school students preferred 2. Assist with the implementation of Individualized Education Plans and classroom accommodations 3. Support students in understanding content, completing assignments, and developing organizational skills 4. Facilitate small-group and individual instruction 5. Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment 6. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills 7. Ability to build positive relationships with student and staff
