Job Description

Delaware Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a Head Start Teacher Assistant to support classroom operations and early childhood education programming. This position works under the supervision of the Lead Teacher/Center Director to help implement daily classroom activities and maintain a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-aged children.
Location:
Davenport, NY Essential Duties Assist with the implementation of classroom activities and lesson plans as directed by the Lead Teacher/Center Director Support daily classroom routines and Head Start program requirements Assume responsibility for classroom activities in the absence of the Lead Teacher Help maintain a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment Support children's social, emotional, and developmental growth Assist with classroom documentation and program compliance as required Follow all Head Start performance standards, agency policies, and procedures Perform related duties as assigned Qualifications Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field or Ability to obtain a CDA within two (2) years of hire Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with preschool-aged children Valid New York State driver's license Compensation & Benefits Hourly wage: $18.16 - $19.53, depending on experience 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday Summer's off How to Apply Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.
