This position works Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children in a warm, play-based preschool environment. The Teacher Assistant will support classroom teachers, supervise children ages 2-5, assist with activities and outdoor play, help maintain a safe and organized classroom, and assist with afternoon dismissal. We are looking for someone who is reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively with staff and families. This is a wonderful opportunity for college students, retirees, aspiring teachers, or anyone looking for rewarding part-time work in early childhood education. Responsibilities Assist teachers in supervising and caring for children ages 2-5 years old. Support classroom activities, including art projects, games, story time, and free play. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play to ensure a safe environment. Help prepare and clean up classroom materials, activities, and snack time. Assist children with daily routines, including handwashing, toileting, and transitions between activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment. Provide positive guidance and encouragement to support children's social and emotional development. Work cooperatively with teachers and other staff members to meet the needs of the classroom. Assist with afternoon dismissal and communicate professionally with families. Follow all school policies, health and safety procedures, and New York State childcare regulations. Arrive on time and maintain consistent attendance.
