Reports To:
Office Manager Position Summary Faith in Action is seeking a reliable and compassionate Program Assistant to help support daily operations and assist with community-based programs that serve care recipients and volunteers. This position plays a key role in providing excellent customer service, coordinating volunteer services, assisting with program reporting, and supporting administrative and outreach activities. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable interacting with volunteers, clients, and community partners while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment. Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Program Support Provide and promote a welcoming and supportive environment for callers, volunteers, and care recipients. Conduct preliminary assessments of callers' needs and determine eligibility for services. Complete intake for new care recipients and assist with service coordination. Match care recipient needs with appropriate volunteers. Assist with volunteer orientations and complete reference checks. Support program reporting requirements, including recording service data and ensuring volunteer driver's license and insurance information remains current. Maintain accurate records and perform data entry tasks. Administrative Support Assist with Faith in Action events, including fundraising activities, volunteer training, recognition events, and celebrations. Promote the program within the community by attending health fairs, giving presentations, and supporting outreach efforts. Prepare greeting cards for volunteers, care recipients, board members, and donors (birthdays, get well, bereavement, and thank-you cards), maintaining a one-week lead time for signatures whenever possible. Assist with designing and producing promotional and informational materials such as brochures, information packets, and newsletters. Help manage and maintain online presence, including website and social media platforms such as Facebook. Assist with bulk mailings and other office communications. Perform other duties as assigned by the Office Manager. Qualifications Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional (Word, Excel, Outlook). Previous customer service experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities when needed. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Flexibility with scheduling when occasional adjustments are required. Work Environment This position is based in an office setting and includes regular interaction with volunteers, care recipients, and community members. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to compassionate service. Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
