A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Location:
Alternative Education & Special Education
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED Must possess or be eligible for New York State Certification as a Level I Teaching Assistant Experience working with at-risk youth within a classroom (preferred) OR , Experience working with students within a special education classroom (preferred)
DUTIES:
Provide additional assistance to classroom teacher and students within a classroom

Based on Education and Experience
