Overview Join our dedicated educational team as a Teacher Assistant and play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students with diverse needs. In this dynamic position, you will work closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment. Your energetic approach and commitment to student success will help foster confidence, independence, and academic growth for children at various stages of development. Responsibilities Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and early childhood education strategies. Provide physical assistance and behavioral support to students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities. Support students during classroom activities, including managing behavior and facilitating communication using techniques such as American Sign Language when appropriate. Help create a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies tailored for students with special needs. Assist with daily childcare routines for young children or toddlers, ensuring their safety, comfort, and engagement during school hours. Handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining professionalism in all interactions with students, families, and staff. Skills Experience working with children in early childhood education or childcare settings. Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices for supporting students with disabilities. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals. Ability to provide physical assistance to students requiring mobility or behavioral support. Experience working specifically with individuals on the autism spectrum or those with developmental disabilities is highly valued. Basic math skills and literacy education experience to support classroom learning activities.
