Job Requirements Starting Pay Rate:
$16/hr Day Shift-On-Call (8-16 hours/week) Teacher Aide supports the classroom teacher in creating a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate early childhood learning environment. Helps bring the ELC's educational philosophy to life by fostering curiosity, supporting young learners, and upholding the center's standards of ethical conduct. What does a Teacher Aide do? Assists classroom teachers as directed in the implementation of the daily program which promotes children's physical, cognitive, language and social-emotional growth. Promotes learning and development, responds promptly to children's needs and provides sensitive and nurturing care. Assists in setting up an attractive, orderly classroom and maintaining a clean environment. Assists children with their daily routines, as needed. Communicates with parents at arrival and pick-up times to share information of a general nature. Notifies supervising teacher of all illnesses and injuries to children, whether major or minor. Maintains confidentiality in all matters relating to children, families, staff and center business. Who We Are:

Work Experience To be successful as a Teacher Aide, you'll need: High School Diploma or Equivalency required. Some experience and knowledge of child development from birth to 12 years. Ability to adapt to a continuously changing schedule and assist with all age groups. Must have the ability to move about the classroom and other areas quickly and easily. This position requires the following physical activities related to the caring for children, including infants and toddlers: crouching, stooping, reaching, and grasping. This position is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions as educational activities occur both inside and outside. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
