Seasonal, Full-time Hours:
8:30am-3:00pm $18.00/hour Under the supervision of the Center Director/Coordinator, the Summer Program Teacher will be responsible for working within the framework of Harbor Child Care, carrying out its functions, policies, and procedures that include, but are not limited to:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
: The Summer Program Teacher is responsible for maintaining the high standards set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, throughout the program. The Summer Program Teacher will encourage and support the anti-Bias Curriculum and provide a program that fosters a spirit of cooperation, friendship and sharing among all youth. Duties and Responsibilities Upholds Harbor's philosophy and policies, i.e. health & safety, nutrition and regulations as stated in the Parent Policy, New Employee Welcome Manual and Employee Handbook Adheres to and understands NYS Licensing regulations in order to maintain a high quality program. Adheres to and understands the accreditation standards for maintaining a high quality child care setting for families. Provides a safe and secure environment for the children. Oversees pick-up and drop-off procedures. Adheres to center policy of discharging children to designated pick-up persons only. Participates in daily bus runs, including daily check in of logbook with school attendance office for accurate information as to child's whereabouts. Displays a willingness to work and plan with the children. Provides a positive adult role model in a courteous and professional manner. Executes daily plans that are age-appropriate for the particular class. Organizes and executes the program activities, stressing fair play and good sportsmanship. Communicates with parents verbally and through children's mailbox messages. Completes children's accident and or incident reports. Maintains ratios of 10:1 within the class. Is aware of what is happening in the classroom at all times. Record Keeping Parent Relations Fosters positive parent relationships through respecting the confidential nature of all information about parents and children. Provides a forum for ongoing communication daily notes, phone calls, etc. Uses Contact Notes for staff and parent concerns. Training/Meetings Attends required staff meetings, trainings and workshops. Attends weekly planning meetings with the Director. This position is a Full-Time. $18.00/hour Under the supervision of the Center Director/Coordinator, the School Age Program Teacher will be responsible for working within the framework of Harbor Child Care, carrying out its functions, policies, and procedures that include, but are not limited to:
