Job Description

Overview Fairway Preschool is looking for Preschool Teacher or Preschool Instructor's Assistant Substitutes. These individuals will instruct/assist with implementing daily educational programing. At Fairway Preschool we educate preschool students both typical developing and students with developmental disabilities. You will be creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for young learners. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster a love of learning in children during their formative years. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in early childhood education while making a meaningful difference in children's lives. Duties Teacher (Payrate is higher - $20.00 per hour) implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional development activities (each teacher has an assistant). Instructor Assistant (payrate is $15.00 per hour) will assist the lead teacher with daily activities and duties. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping maintain a calm, organized learning environment Engage with children through play, storytelling, and educational activities that promote curiosity and creativity Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety at all times Support individualized learning needs, including working with children with autism or disabilities to foster inclusive participation Assist with classroom setup, materials preparation, and cleanup to ensure a smooth daily routine Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to support ongoing development and well-being Requirements Substitute teaching license through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (high school diploma required) Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings is preferred Knowledge of early childhood development principles and classroom management techniques is preferred Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and families Ability to handle behavior management challenges with patience and professionalism A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their growth in a nurturing environment.
