PM Position Summary:
We are seeking a nurturing, growth-minded Part-Time Preschool Teacher who will assist our lead preschool teacher in the morning and serve as the Lead Teacher for our afternoon preschool class. This role is designed as a developmental track: the candidate will grow in understanding and applying the Reggio Emilia philosophy in a classroom integrated with Christian faith, with the goal of becoming a Morning Preschool Lead Teacher in the following school year. Key Responsibilities Morning (
Assistant Teacher:
8:00 AM - 11:30 AM, Tues/Wed/Thurs):
  • Partner with the lead preschool teacher during our morning session.
  • Observe and support students in play-based, inquiry-rich activities.
  • Help prepare learning materials, classroom environments, and provocations.
  • Engage with children in ways that honor their strengths, interests, and voices.
  • Participate in reflective practice with the lead teacher to deepen understanding of Reggio Emilia-inspired methods.
Afternoon (
Lead Teacher:
12:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Tues/Wed/Thurs):
  • Independently lead the afternoon preschool class, applying best practices of play-based, student-centered learning.
  • Foster a Christ-centered classroom where children feel safe, seen, and valued.
  • Plan and facilitate activities that encourage creativity, exploration, and collaboration.
  • Communicate with families about classroom routines, student progress, and community events.
Professional Growth & Collaboration:
  • Participate in ongoing professional development focused on the Reggio Emilia approach and Christian early childhood education.
  • Collaborate with preschool team members to reflect on practice and enrich learning experiences.
  • Attend planning meetings and contribute insights from morning classroom engagement. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field (preferred).
  • Valid Ohio teaching license or equivalent early childhood certification, or working toward certification.
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children in a classroom or similar educational setting.
  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to nurture faith in young children.
  • Some experience or strong interest in early childhood education.
  • Familiarity with or openness to learning the Reggio Emilia philosophy in a Christian context.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with colleagues and families.
  • Patience, flexibility, creativity, and a joy for working with young learners. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move, kneel, and interact on the ground level with preschool-aged children.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally (e.g., classroom materials).
  • Visual and auditory ability to supervise and respond to children at play.
  • Comfortable engaging in active classroom environments and facilitating hands-on learning.

After a season of mentoring and growth alongside our seasoned preschool lead, the successful candidate will transition into a Morning Preschool Lead Teacher position for the following academic year.
