Summary:
The classroom is a special education pre-school classroom. Perform any combination of the following instructional tasks in a classroom to assist preschool teaching staff by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned. As directed by the teacher, assist in the instruction and supervision of students by: Reviewing and becoming familiar with student IEP's. Preparing and/or organizing instructional materials and lessons. Instructing children using appropriate methods and materials. Assist with student arrival and/or departure. Supervising students during recess or in the absence of the teacher. Maintaining appropriate records. Behavioral management of children using the appropriate methods and techniques. With proper training, assist students with personal health needs and non-medical procedures. Position and/or perform one-person or two-person lift of a child when needed.
Qualifications:

Education, Experience & Certification:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training. Must obtain and maintain an Ohio Department of Education Educational Aide Permit and meet all Step Up to Quality requirement for Job and Family Services.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software and Spreadsheet software. A n individual should have knowledge of internet browser use for research, and ability to use virtual meeting tools. Ability to operate a copier and personal computer, and input grades into a database.
Criminal Records Check:
Must comply with Ohio Revised Code 3319.39

Drug Testing:
