Job Description
Overview Do you love working with children and making a difference in your community? We are looking for caring, dependable team members to help support young children and families in our Head Start program! Head Start Teacher Aides Help to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for preschool children ages 3-5. Teacher Aides work alongside the classroom teacher to support learning, play, meals, transitions, and daily routines. Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning activities Support classroom management by fostering positive behavior and guiding children through routines and activities Provide individualized attention to children with special needs or disabilities, including those with autism or requiring toddler care Help prepare classroom materials and setup learning centers that encourage exploration and creativity Engage actively with children during playtime, storytime, and educational activities to promote social skills and early literacy skills Monitor children's progress and communicate observations to teachers for ongoing assessment and curriculum adjustments Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that complies with health and safety regulations Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Associates degree or CDA preferred. Ability to work as part of a team Must pass background checks and meet licensing requirements
