Part Time Purpose of Role:
The Teacher Assistant for Play Pals Daycare is passionate about providing a warm, safe and nurturing environment for children from the age of 6 weeks to 5 years old to thrive. They are concerned with ensuring that children receive abundant attention as an extension of the care received from their primary caregivers.
Reports To:
Classroom Lead Teachers Primary Responsibilities:
Assist Teachers with support of children and duties Utilize age-appropriate developmental materials for the classroom Assist curriculum implementation in a manner that supports creativity and learning Follow Ohio state rules and regulations with regards to classroom operations Supervise the classroom when the teacher is out of the room, keeping the teacher informed of any relevant incidents, needs or issues. Help with general housekeeping tasks and meal/snack preparation and clean up
Additional Responsibilities:
File incident reports as needed Attend training and development opportunities
Skills and Attributes:
Minimum High School certificate or GED completion Active First Aid and CPR certification

Love of working with children Strong observation skills and developed intuition Ability to maintain a clean and orderly area Abundance of patience and self control Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time with an ability to adapt as required Self motivated and personally driven Understanding of privacy and confidentiality Clear communication to children and adults, including conflict resolution skills
