General Job Description:
Upper Valley Career Center is looking for a full-time employee to work half of the day as a paraprofessional in the Robotics and Automation lab and the other half as a Manufacturing Operations instructor. This individual will need a basic understanding of Robotics and Manufacturing. As a Manufacturing Operations instructor some topics covered include: OSHA 10, Fork Lift operation, Quality Control, Lean Manufacturing, and Machine Maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: To maintain a safe learning environment for all students and assure that school policies and guidelines are followed. Prepare and conduct quality lessons for courses from the Manufacturing pathway as identified in the State of Ohio Content Standards. Direct the learning experiences of the students, including safety, skill development, human relations, and leadership qualities. Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment. Promote a positive learning environment. Remain current with industry needs and remain updated with current technology and industry trends. To assist the career tech instructor with student supervision and daily educational and operational functions of the career tech program. Assists in the areas of record keeping, instructional preparation, lab organization and upkeep. Participates in professional development activities related to the job description. Participates in Advisory Committee functions.
Qualifications:
Must hold or qualify for licensure in the Manufacturing pathway, which would include 5 years of experience in the Manufacturing industry. Must have basic knowledge of Manufacturing, Robotics and Automation.. Must be a strong team leader, possess excellent human relation skills and serve as a role model for students. Must have excellent planning and organizational skills. Must meet all the requirements governing teacher education and licensure. Meets all mandated health screening requirements. Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment. Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check. Maintains compliance with drug-free workplace rules, Board policies, and other applicable procedures/guidelines.
Salary:
Appropriate placement on the Certificated Salary Schedule and Paraprofessional Salary Schedule to be determined by education and experience. Salary will range from approximately $44,478.00 to $59,016.00. The base contract is 194 days. Minimum workday is 7 hours per day exclusive of a lunch break . One-year contract with opportunity for renewal.
