CPA supports older adults through a wide range of services and programs, including congregate meals, transportation, social work outreach and referrals, homemaking services, civic engagement, health and wellness programs, social and educational activities, food distribution, and Safe at Home modifications. Position:
Program Assistant Schedule:
Part-time, 30 hours per week
Location:
On-site Pay:
$18.00 per hour, plus OPERS contribution, Workers' Compensation, and Medicare. Optional health insurance is available. Position Summary The Program Assistant works closely with the Program Coordinator to support the day-to-day operation of older adult programs and activities. This position also provides administrative support, helps ensure that programs run smoothly and that participants receive a welcoming, positive experience. Essential Functions Serve as a facilitator and liaison for in-person and virtual programs as directed by the Program Coordinator. Facilitate virtual programming through Zoom, including Chair Yoga, Book Club, and other activities. Monitor the program phone, respond to calls and questions, and record reservations and registrations for programs and activities. Set up and take down program equipment and supplies as needed, including for art classes and other activities. Develop a strong working knowledge of CPA's programs and services and encourage participants to take advantage of available resources. Collaborate with staff on events, programs, special projects, and other organizational activities. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Travel between locations throughout the week is required; reliable transportation required
  • Occasional need to lift and carry up to 10 pounds
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and virtual platforms (Zoom)

  • Displays sensitivity to aging population
Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
