In this role, you will support the development of young learners by facilitating fun, educational activities and ensuring their safety and well-being. Your enthusiasm will help foster a nurturing space that encourages growth, creativity, and social interaction for children of diverse backgrounds. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while gaining valuable experience in youth development and childcare. Responsibilities Supervise children during before-school and after-school hours, ensuring their safety and adherence to program rules Lead engaging youth activities, including arts and crafts, sports, games, and educational projects that promote childhood development Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior management techniques to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment Assist with homework help and tutoring sessions to support academic success Implement first aid protocols when necessary, including CPR and AED operation, to respond promptly to emergencies Collaborate with team members to plan and execute age-appropriate activities aligned with youth development principles Maintain accurate attendance records, activity logs, and safety documentation to ensure compliance with program standards Experience Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred Demonstrated classroom management skills and experience in behavior management strategies Knowledge of first aid procedures, CPR certification, AED operation, and first aid protocols required or obtainable upon hire Background in special education or experience working with children with diverse needs is a plus Experience facilitating youth group activities or leading outdoor work experiences enhances your candidacy Previous roles such as babysitting, coaching sports, theater instruction, or daycare work provide valuable relevant skills Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team dedicated to youth development Join us in creating a safe, fun-filled environment where children can thrive!
