The role involves providing individualized assistance to students, supporting small group instruction, supervising during recess and lunch, and preparing classroom materials. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive learning environment and helping students develop essential communication, social, and daily living skills. Extensive training will be provided to ensure success in this role. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students on the autism spectrum.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one support to students with autism under the guidance of the classroom teacher Assist with small group instruction and activities Supervise students during recess, lunch, and transitions Prepare classroom materials and set up activities prior to student arrival Support classroom management and behavior strategies as directed by the teacher Perform additional duties as assigned to support student learning and safety
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Ability to pass a criminal background check as required by state and federal law Strong communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate, patient, and adaptable attitude Prior experience working with children or students with special needs is preferred but not required
Pay:
$15.29 - $19.12 per hour
