West Side Montessori is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher Associate to support classroom instruction and contribute to creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for our students. The Teacher Associate will work closely with lead teachers to implement Montessori-based activities, support student learning, and assist in maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about early childhood education to develop their skills and potentially grow into a lead teaching position.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist teachers in preparing and organizing Montessori materials and classroom environment to ensure a smooth daily routine. Support individual and small-group student activities, promoting independence, curiosity, and a love of learning. Observe and monitor student behavior, providing feedback and support to foster positive social interactions. Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment in accordance with school policies and procedures. Support students with their daily routines, including transitions, meals, and hygiene, as needed. Uphold the principles of the Montessori philosophy, encouraging student exploration and self-directed learning. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education or related field preferred. Passion for early childhood education and child development. Prior experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting is a plus. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow directions, be adaptable, and work collaboratively within a Montessori environment. Commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful, and nurturing classroom.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to engage in physical activity typical of working with young children, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
