Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Youth Mentor Program Assistant (QMHS Track) to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will support youth development initiatives by assisting with mentoring programs designed to empower children and adolescents. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster positive growth, resilience, and social skills among young individuals. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact while gaining valuable experience in behavioral health, social work, and child welfare fields. You will work closely with youth, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to help them navigate challenges and achieve their goals. Responsibilities Assist in coordinating and implementing youth mentoring activities aligned with program goals. Support mentors in engaging with children and adolescents, fostering positive relationships. Help facilitate group sessions focused on social skills, conflict management, and personal development. Provide one-on-one support to youth with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or behavioral health assistance. Observe and document youth progress, behavior, and participation for program evaluation purposes. Collaborate with team members to develop individualized plans that promote child welfare and educational success. Support the organization of events and activities that encourage social interaction and skill-building among participants. Requirements Prior experience working with children or adolescents in educational, childcare, or social services settings. Knowledge of special education needs and working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. Understanding of behavioral health principles and child welfare practices. Strong mentoring skills combined with excellent conflict management abilities. Ability to effectively communicate with children, families, educators, and community partners. Experience in teaching or facilitating group activities is a plus. Reliable transportation and the ability to work flexible hours as needed.
