Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Center Supervisor, employee will be responsible for the day-to-day center activities as set forth by the Head Start while following all Head Start Standards, Tribal and Federal regulations. The teacher is responsible for creating a learning environment that is linguistically, culturally, and educational rich.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: A Baccalaureate or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education; or A Baccalaureate or advanced degree and coursework equivalent to a major relating to Early Childhood Education, with the experience teaching preschool-age childrenDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor safety and manage behavior of children (classroom, bus, playground, etc.) Prepare and teach Weekly Lesson Plan based on children's individual required skill development, promoting their Social. Emotional, Physical, and Cognitive development Set up environment (indoor/outdoor) for the activities of the day Use developmentally appropriate practices to facilitate activities with groups and individuals Encourage experimentation, exploration, problem solving, cooperation, socialization and choice making; ask open-ended questions and listen respectfully to the answers Supervise Teacher Assistant and Teacher Aide and give guidance in the area of children's individual development Plan monthly field trips to enhance current topic of study Document on-going observations on children, to determine their individual strengths and needs Provide an atmosphere that promotes and reinforces parental involvement in the classroom Attend parent meetings, home visits, parent /teacher conferences as required Be a willing participant in tribal functions as needed Other duties as may be assignedJob Types:
