Job Description

Job Summary We are looking for a teacher assistant to join our academic institution to help 13 to 18 year old Middle School and High School students with class assignments, review examinations and prepare for tests inside the classroom. A teacher assistant is responsible for helping students learn and understand new concepts and complete assignments. Ultimately, you will work directly with students to assist them in gaining a better understanding of concepts. You will communicate with teachers and/or program directors to track progress.
Teacher assistant responsibilities include:
Assisting students with school work, test preparation, paperwork, and other academic tasks Working with students to help them understand key concepts Reviewing classroom or curricula topics and assignments Contribute to student learning, growth and advancement Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice Facilitate problem-solving with a curious mind and critical thinking skills Collaborate effectively with the organization to increase student performance Requirements and skills: Pass a background check Must be over 21 years of age Proven work experience as a tutor, teacher assistant, or similar role Patient, flexible, positive, consistent, dependable and cooperative Demonstrate academic competence in multiple subject areas Ability to take supervision and correction constructively Ability to positively supervise students High school diploma or equivalent A teacher assistant should have great communication skills to connect with their students and share complex information based on their student's needs. They also need to have a strong understanding of different subject matters to ensure students learn during their sessions. They will also work with teachers to learn what students need to improve on to be successful in the classroom. This position offers a highly desirable work-life balance package that includes weekends and holidays off, as well as daily home time. Additionally, employees will receive insurance coverage, and an annual salary of $31,000.
