Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract position supporting student success as a paraprofessional for the 2023-2024 school year. This full-time opportunity immerses you in a caring educational environment working one-on-one with a 5th grade student who requires assistance due to mobility challenges. Your compassion and dedication will help empower this student to thrive academically, socially, and personally. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with a committed staff, offering meaningful support both in and out of the classroom. Your day involves assisting the student with daily transitions, providing help during meals, and supporting with hygiene needs such as being changed as needed. Ongoing communication with educators and support personnel ensures the student has consistent, dignified care while making the most of every learning opportunity.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional or similar role in an educational setting Familiarity with assisting students with mobility issues or personal care Strong interpersonal skills and a patient, nurturing approach Ability to remain flexible and responsive to changing needs Team-oriented, communicative, and open to learning Reliable attendance and a professional attitude
Key Responsibilities:
Support a 5th grade student with mobility needs, including assistance during meals and hygiene routines Foster a safe and inclusive environment that promotes student independence Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff on adapting activities Maintain confidentiality and respect at all times Document daily progress and communicate updates with the student's educational team No two days are the same in this meaningful role—your willingness to help in whatever ways are needed makes a direct impact.
