Bookmark this Posting Print Preview | Apply for this Job Position Details Position Information Position Title Instructional Assistant Community Health Worker (Part Time, Temporary Hourly, Non-Benefited) (Non-Benefited) Classification Title T1 Hourly rate, Stipend, or Load Unit $30hr, averaging 10 hours per week Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Open Until Filled Notes Open 2025-2026 Academic Year Position Type/Employee Class Temporary PT Hourly Instructor Status Not applicable Overtime Eligible Non-Exempt FLSA Status Campus Location Madras Primary Purpose The Instructional Assistant will serve as an Instructional and Lab Assistant; and assist the primary course instructor in the education of students using state-approved criteria to teach, select, and conduct hands-on learning experiences appropriate for meeting objectives for the classroom. Under the direction of and providing support to faculty by preparing classroom materials, facilitating student communication, and observing student performance and testing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare classroom environments virtually and in-person for instruction by assembling necessary resources Assist faculty with demonstrations, observation, and evaluation of student essential skills performance Maintain records of activities undertaken in the classroom which may include typing forms, inputting data, or otherwise retaining information regarding students and their progress in meeting instructional goals Reinforce knowledge and skills introduced by the course faculty Assist with student communication Support department faculty with copying class materials, stapling, and hole-punching; sort papers and/or supplies Perform other duties as assigned Department Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the duties and responsibilities of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. The individual is expected to follow College work rules and policies. Ability to develop strong working relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds and other aspects of human diversity Must be well-organized, self-motivated, and dependable Possess well-developed verbal skills are required to present and exchange technical or complex information Must be personable, have good interpersonal skills, be able to work in a team environment, have a willingness to teach, and be proactive Communicate effectively Ability to perform a variety of tasks daily Ergonomic Requirements Regular office hours are established between 8 am - 5 pm during the workweek. A flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, may be necessary due to the nature of the responsibilities. Incumbents must be able to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature. Requires the ability to work at a workstation for extended periods.
