Preschool Promise Educational Assistant Dorena School 7 hours per day 8:00 - 3:30 2026-27 School Year Job Summary Preschool Promise Educational Assistants are responsible for supporting the classroom teacher in the instruction and supervision of students ages three to five in a fully inclusive classroom. The Educational Assistant assists the teacher in the planning and implementation of curriculum that addresses the cultural, developmental, and learning needs of the whole child: cognitive, social, emotional, physical, linguistic, and preacademic. They collaborate with a classroom team to create a safe, warm, and engaging learning environment for all. In South Lane Preschool Promise, our mission is to lay a strong foundation of early learning so that all children thrive in kindergarten and beyond. Duties and Responsibilities An Educational Assistant in this position must: Have previous experience working with young children Be familiar with child development and early childhood education Establish effective rapport and positive relationships with colleagues, students, and families Have strong skills in positive behavior management Have the ability to work cooperatively in a team Be sensitive to the needs of children and families Ensure child safety and supervision at all times Provide support with diapering/toileting, handwashing, and all other health and safety routines Follow all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures Be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification and an Oregon Food Handler's card Qualifications All candidates should have training and/or experience in early childhood education or child development, technology skills, collaboration and teaming skills, and be able to employ a variety of developmentally appropriate strategies. Must obtain enrollment in the Oregon Central Background Registry (CBR) upon hire. Step 5 or higher in the Oregon Registry (ORO) preferred. Consideration will be given to candidates who are fluent in Spanish and/or candidates who are bi-cultural or multi-cultural.
