Job Summary:
We are hiring multiple Instructional Aides to support teachers and students in our summer school programs across grades K-8. As an Instructional Aide, you will play a crucial role in assisting teachers, facilitating learning activities, and providing support to ensure the success of our summer school curriculum. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the educational experience of students during the summer months.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support:
Assist teachers in implementing instructional activities and maintaining a positive learning environment conducive to student engagement and achievement.
Student Support:
Provide individualized support to students as needed, including academic assistance, behavior management, and social-emotional support, to help them succeed in their summer school coursework.
Materials Preparation:
Prepare instructional materials, resources, and equipment for lessons and activities, ensuring that all materials are organized and readily accessible to teachers and students.
Field Trip Assistance:
Accompany students and teachers on field trips, ensuring the safety and well-being of students while facilitating educational experiences outside the classroom.
Technology Assistance:
Support teachers and students in navigating technology tools and platforms used for instruction, including computers, tablets, and educational software.
Data Collection:
Assist teachers in collecting and recording student data, including attendance, participation, and academic progress, to monitor student achievement and inform instructional decisions.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and fellow instructional aides to coordinate activities, share resources, and promote a collaborative learning environment.
Safety and Supervision:
Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students, adhering to school policies and procedures related to safety, behavior, and emergency protocols.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required) Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to take on various tasks as needed Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support student learning and success
Additional Information:
This is a temporary position for the duration of the summer school program (5 weeks for elementary/middle schools). Instructional Aides may be assigned to work with students across different grade levels (K-8) based on program needs. Some positions may require the ability to travel and participate in off-site field trips with students. Compensation will be commensurate with current contract or experience and training.
