Pay Level:
C Position Overview Intervention Paraeducator will assist students (K-5) by providing academic interventions, behavior interventions, and help to improve social-emotional learning. The Intervention Paraeducator will assist in providing instruction and support to assigned students in an educational setting, which is designed to promote intellectual, behavioral, emotional, and social growth. The Intervention Paraeducator will work with students to provide support through classroom instruction, small group instruction, and individual group instruction. Key Responsibilities The Intervention Paraeducator will: Respect the role of teacher(s). Collaborate closely with supervisor(s) to enhance student learning. Provide clerical and supportive duties as designated and keeping records as needed. Participate in training/meetings as assigned to help with student achievement in skill deficit areas. Implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Implements the fidelity of positive behavior intervention plans and behavior management techniques needed to ensure student growth and achievement. Provides instruction in skill deficit areas including academic and behavioral. Provides lessons, under the direction of a teacher, to student(s) to help achieve grade level expectations based on student(s) instructional levels. Distributes and corrects instructional and testing materials. Maintains classroom supplies, assists in planning, and preparing academic/behavioral supports for students. Use software to progress monitor and maintain accurate records of students' response to interventions provided. Administers positive reinforcement strategies and techniques. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Maintains complete confidentiality of all student information. Provides students with a safe learning atmosphere. Enforce all school regulations and classroom rules with students. Able to provide re-teaching and pre-teaching of academic and behavioral skills. Interpersonal skills using patience and courtesy with students, staff, and parents/guardians. Works with students to improve student self-confidence and motivation. Monitors student behavior, tracking of student progress, conducts assessments, and referrals into programs of intervention to ensure appropriate levels of intervention academically and behaviorally according to approved policies and procedures. Conducts and follows schedules that include whole group, small group, and individual lessons with training to enhance students in behavior management/social emotional development, and academic skill areas. Implementation of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
Education Requirements Minimum:
Associates Degree, Bachelor's Degree, 48
College Credits, or Completion of Highly Qualified Paraprofessional Training and Exam Experience Requirements Minimum:
Six months experience working with students
Preferred:
Previous role working with students in public education 2 or more years of experience working with students
Certifications & Licenses Required:
Certification in First Aid/CPR/AD

Ability to hear with 40 decibel loss maximum and see with acuity of 20 inches or less, and far acuity of at least 20 feet normal depth perception, field of vision and accommodation.
