full-time Position Summary The Bilingual Program Assistant is a welcoming, compassionate, and organized member of YWCA Allentown's Economic Empowerment team who provides direct service and day-to-day operational support for The Perfect Fit and Perfect Fit Resale Boutique. The Program Assistant works directly with clients, customers, donors, volunteers, and community partners to help ensure programs provide a welcoming, respectful, and positive experience. The position combines client service, administrative support, and hands-on boutique operations. Responsibilities include assisting clients and customers, scheduling appointments, responding to phone and email inquiries, processing clothing donations, pricing and preparing merchandise, maintaining inventory and program spaces, and supporting community outreach activities. As a bilingual staff member, the Program Assistant helps ensure that Spanish-speaking clients and community members can fully access YWCA Allentown's programs and services. The Program Assistant works within the policies, values, and mission of YWCA Allentown and represents the organization with professionalism, warmth, and respect in all interactions. Job Duties & Responsibilities Client & Customer Service Welcome and assist Perfect Fit clients and Resale Boutique customers in a friendly, respectful, and inclusive manner. Support clients during Perfect Fit appointments, including helping them identify appropriate clothing and other available resources. Schedule and confirm client appointments and conduct follow-up as needed. Provide basic information about YWCA Allentown programs, services, eligibility and referral processes. Connecting individuals with appropriate staff or resources when needed. Maintain positive working relationships with donors, volunteers, referral partners, and other community members. Perfect Fit & Resale Boutique Operations Receive, sort, and process donated clothing, accessories, and other items. Identify items appropriate for client use, resale, or other disposition according to program guidelines. Price, tag, hang, organize, and display clothing and merchandise. Assist with maintaining accurate and organized inventory. Help maintain clean, organized, welcoming, and client-ready program and retail spaces. Assist customers with purchases and routine Resale Boutique operations. Help prepare merchandise and materials for seasonal needs, special sales, community pop-ups, and other activities. Assist with donation intake and interactions with individual and community donors. Administrative & Program Support Maintain client appointment schedules and assist with program calendars. Enter and maintain client, appointment, inventory, and other program information as required. Assist with client follow-up and routine program communications. Maintain organized electronic and paper records consistent with YWCA policies and confidentiality requirements. Support routine administrative functions, including copying, filing, preparing materials, and maintaining supplies. Assist the Perfect Fit Program Manager and other Economic Empowerment staff with program activities and special projects as assigned. Community Outreach & Events Represent YWCA Allentown and The Perfect Fit at job fairs, resource fairs, community events, Fundraising Events and other outreach opportunities as needed. Assist with planning, setup, staffing, and breakdown of Perfect Fit Resale Boutique pop-up events in the community. Provide information about YWCA Allentown programs and services to community members in English and Spanish, serving as a positive and professional representative of the YWCA Allentown in the community.

Position Requirements or Qualifications Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bilingual English/Spanish required , with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and community members in both languages. Previous customer service, retail, administrative, nonprofit, or human-services experience helpful but not required. YWCA Allentown welcomes candidates who are beginning their careers and are interested in developing skills in nonprofit programs, client service, workforce development, and community engagement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Warm, friendly, and welcoming demeanor with strong interpersonal and customer-service skills. Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences. Empathy, patience, discretion, and good judgment when working with clients who may be navigating challenging circumstances. Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and respecting individual dignity and privacy. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish. Dependability and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small, collaborative team. Flexibility and willingness to move between client service, administrative, retail, and hands-on operational responsibilities throughout the workday. Basic Computer skills, comfortable using email, calendars, Microsoft Office applications and other software platforms. Willingness and ability to learn new systems. Physical Requirements:

Ability to remain standing and moving throughout portions of the workday, including periods of at least two consecutive hours. Ability to sit at a desk and work at a computer for portions of the workday. Frequent reaching and occasional bending, stooping, crouching, pushing, and pulling associated with clothing and inventory management. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to move between YWCA Allentown program locations and participate in occasional off-site community events and pop-ups. Hours & Benefits This is a full-time, 35-hour-per-week position, with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for special events or community activities, with advance notice. YWCA Allentown offers a generous benefits package designed to support our employees both at work and outside of it, including: Paid time off (PTO) $4,000 annual health care stipend Employer-funded pension contribution equal to 14% of salary after one year of service 12 paid holidays Paid winter closure

Compensation:

$20-$22 per hour, based on experience.
