Qualifications and Experience:

Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar support role, especially in school environments Strong interpersonal skills for building rapport with students and staff Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping high school-aged learners with unique needs Ability to follow individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct 1:1 support for students in a high school autism classroom, monitoring progress and adapting strategies as needed Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning atmosphere within low-behavior settings Assist with academic, social, and life skills development during classroom activities and routines Implement and reinforce classroom expectations and behavioral guidelines Act as a supportive partner for teachers, contributing to a team-driven educational approach Maintain accurate records of student growth, daily activities, and observations
