Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a positive difference in a student's educational journey by working as a dedicated paraprofessional at a busy high school in the Jim Thorpe area. This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 21, 2026, through June 4, 2027, and offers the chance to provide one-on-one support for a student in the Life Skills program. You'll play an important role in helping this student—who has autism and needs a consistent routine to stay safe and engaged—remain in the classroom and on school grounds.

Key Qualifications:

Prior experience in a school setting as a paraprofessional or similar support role Comfortable and confident managing students exhibiting maximum behavioral needs Skilled in working 1:1 with students who have autism or developmental disabilities Ability to follow, reinforce, and adapt daily routines for student success Strong communicator, patient, and team-oriented

Responsibilities:

Work daily from approximately 7:15 am to 3:00 pm (may be adjusted as needed) Support a single student with autism in navigating classroom and school routines Assist with behavioral interventions and help implement IEP goals Encourage engagement in academic and life skills activities as directed by teachers Ensure the student remains safe and within supervised areas throughout the school day Collaborate with school staff to ensure continuity and consistency This contract position provides the unique chance to influence a young person's future while developing valuable skills in special education.
