A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Job Description
Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher with daily instruction and activities.
- Supervise students during classroom, playground, lunch, and transition times.
- Help prepare classroom materials, centers, and learning activities.
- Support students with academic, social, and emotional development.
- Reinforce classroom routines and positive behavior expectations.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to provide an exceptional educational experience.
- Model Christian values and support the Catholic mission of the school. Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate's degree or college coursework in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
- Warm, patient, and nurturing personality.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced classroom.
- Must successfully complete all required background clearances and Safe Environment requirements.
