Personal Care Assistant Make a meaningful impact every day by providing one-on-one support that helps students learn, grow, and succeed in the classroom. We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and student-focused Personal Care Assistant to support students in an Autism Support classroom setting. This role involves providing academic, behavioral, personal care, and safety support while working closely with teachers and school staff to create a positive learning environment. Candidates should be flexible, punctual, able to follow direction, and comfortable assisting students with a variety of needs. Schedule Monday through Friday6.5-hour workday
Hours:
8:50 AM to 3:50 PM30-minute unpaid lunch break Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students with disabilities. Assist with implementing educational and behavioral support plans as directed by the teacher and case manager. Support students with academic tasks, daily living skills, social skills, and behavior management. Assist students with personal care needs, including toileting, hygiene, feeding, changing clothing, and positioning. Monitor student safety and help maintain a secure classroom environment. Implement positive behavior support strategies and interventions. Assist with physical development activities and mobility needs, including lifting, positioning, and supporting students who use orthopedic equipment. Prepare students for participation in inclusive classroom settings when appropriate. Maintain accurate records related to student progress and classroom activities. Collaborate with teachers, specialists, case managers, and other school staff. Participate in required trainings, including medical, safety, and instructional programs. Provide support during student social interactions and daily school activities. Perform other related duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Experience in special education, behavioral health, caregiving, or a related field. Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities. Knowledge of positive behavior support practices. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with children, students, individuals requiring care, or within behavioral health settings. Ability to assist with personal care and mobility needs. First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification before the start date.
