Duties Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curricula focused on literacy, math, social skills, and early childhood development. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and maintaining a safe, organized environment. Supervise children during activities, outdoor play, meals, and rest periods to ensure their safety and well-being. Facilitate individual and group learning activities that promote curiosity and skill-building in line with educational standards such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones. Use educational technologies and computers to enhance learning experiences for young children. Collaborate closely with teachers to plan lessons, monitor classroom behavior, and adapt strategies for children with diverse needs including those with disabilities or autism. Qualifications Prior experience working with young children in classroom or childcare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies. Familiarity with special education practices and experience supporting children with disabilities or autism is advantageous. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members. Certification in first aid and CPR is required or willing to obtain upon hire. Understanding of educational compliance standards such as the ESSA and familiarity with Montessori or other early childhood education philosophies is a plus. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patience and enthusiasm for teaching young learners.
