Classroom Aide

Pay Rate:

$19.50 per/hr. Schedules vary based on school. Work with students that may be on the spectrum, have a physical, cognitive, or behavioral diagnosis. Assist in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment that meets the educational, physical, emotional, and personal needs of assigned student(s). Monitoring student's safety, redirect negative behavior, implement de-escalation strategies, and conduct crisis prevention and intervention plan. Toileting and Swimming may be needed. Summary of the Classroom Aide role: We are seeking Classroom Support Aide, for the school year, to become an integral part of our team! Create emotionally safe spaces in classrooms, while also recognizing when a student needs mental health help from outside sources, provide students with the necessary academic, social, and behavior skills, while adjusting their teaching to the individual needs of each student in the classroom.

PROMOTE A SENSE OF BELONGING IN THE CLASSROOM

Responsibilities of the Classroom Aide role: Evaluating student progress. Provide written input on designated student as requested. Communicating with parents, staff and non- professionals in coordination with classroom staff and supervisor, when requested. Assists in recording and reporting behavior data for assigned student. Assists in assigned classrooms with individual, small and large group instruction as directed by and coordinated with teacher. Provides individualized instruction and supervision for student(s) on and off-campus in areas assigned by supervisor and teaching staff Assists teacher in daily organizational planning, as requested. Organizing classroom furniture and equipment. Supervises student(s) to ensure safety at all times, including bus duty, playground duty and off campus. Supervises classroom in absence of teacher when needed or instructed by supervisor. Implements individual and classroom behavior programs as coordinated with other staff. Assists in other general areas such as: toileting, feeding, and other relevant tasks as assigned by teacher. Requirements of the Classroom Aide role: Minimum 1 year experience supporting children with special needs (physical, emotional, and mental support to children with special needs) High School Diploma Valid CPR/First Aid Certification or willing to complete Child abuse clearance Proof of Physical and PPD, if you have a history of positive PPD you must provide a Chest X-Ray Two forms of government issued ID's (To include s Social Security card) Criminal background check to include fingerprinting and central registry clearance. FBI Fingerprinting QBS Safety Care Training (Provided by client if hired) Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills #
