Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Support the academic and personal growth of high school students by working as a paraprofessional in a life skills classroom in a welcoming school environment. This rewarding contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year, with a start date as soon as possible and continuing through late May 2027. This paraprofessional position is not tied to individual student support (not 1:1) and offers consistent daytime hours, Monday through Friday.
Key Qualifications:
At least one year of paraprofessional experience, preferably within school settings Paraprofessional certification, or willingness to obtain certification within 60 days (required if lacking 48+ college credits or an associate's degree or higher) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference in students' lives Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Collaborating with classroom teachers and staff to deliver quality instruction to high school students in a life skills classroom Providing support to students with varied learning and personal needs, encouraging independence and academic engagement Assisting with classroom activities, lesson preparation, and classroom management Helping reinforce life skills and fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere Enjoy a predictable weekday schedule—from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM—allowing for a healthy work-life balance and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully each day.
