In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers in creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for students of diverse needs. Your energy, compassion, and organizational skills will help foster student success, promote classroom harmony, and ensure that every child receives the attention and support they need to thrive academically and socially. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young learners' lives while developing your skills in early childhood education and special education practices. Duties Assist classroom teachers with daily instructional activities, including literacy, math, and other core subjects. Support students with special needs, including those with disabilities or autism, by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies. Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and transitions to ensure safety and positive behavior. Help prepare teaching materials, educational resources, and classroom setups that enhance learning experiences. Collaborate with teachers on lesson planning, classroom management techniques, and assessment strategies to support student progress. Utilize educational technologies such as computers and interactive learning tools to engage students effectively. Maintain compliance with educational regulations and safety standards by adhering to policies related to childcare, first aid (including CPR), and health protocols. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in classroom or childcare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and behavior management techniques. Familiarity with special education strategies, including working with students with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and students. Ability to supervise children responsibly while maintaining a positive learning environment. Proficiency in using computers and educational technologies to support instruction. Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable; willingness to obtain if not already certified. Experience working in private schools or Montessori environments is a plus. Understanding of educational compliance standards such as ESSA regulations is beneficial.
