CURRENT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Associate Instructor, Surgical Technology Dickson The Tennessee College of Applied Technology•Dickson is accepting applications for the full-time position of Associate Instructor in the new Surgical Technology program at the Dickson Campus. This is a grant-funded position.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must hold a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification issued by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or must hold a Tech in Surgery Certification (TS-C) issued by by National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). Maintaining certification is required. Technical diploma in a related field, Associate degree in a related field preferred. A comparable combination of related education and related experience may be considered. Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Surgical Technologist or three (3) years as a Registered Nurse in a comparable operating room role within the last five (5) years. Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students a plus. SKILLS Must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher and to interact with high school and adult students. Must show evidence of good character, mature attitude and stable personality. Must commit to remain current in the Surgical Technology field and establish/maintain program accreditation(s). Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, the general public and business/industry representatives. Computer skills and ability to adapt quickly to new technology required. Must be willing and able to perform administrative duties in a timely manner.
GENERAL DUTIES
The Surgical Technology Associate Instructor is responsible for on-campus teaching of theory and skills to prepare students to become surgical technologists. The Associate Instructor will monitor, grade, evaluate and advise students on individual progress; maintain records and complete reports in a timely manner; assist in recruitment of new students and placement of graduates; participate in the development of the program; maintain good public relations with business and industry; develop and maintain agreements with clinical partners; maintain an active advisory committee, and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Director of Health Career Programs. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Class hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Anticipated start date for the position is May 1. This is not a remote work position. This position is grant-funded.
SALARY:
$50,894•61,074 annually ($26.10•31.32 per hour). Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines and directly related experience.
