Dearborn. More details about the program can be found on our website. Responsibilities• Teaching assistants will work alongside professors from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and will assist with organizing and running the summer program. Teaching assistants are expected to arrive no later than 8:30 am every day of the program and help set up the activities for the day. Assist a group of 3-5 high-school students in mathematics activities, during lectures and labs. Participate in discussions with the rest of the team after the end of activities every day. Spend time preparing before the program?s start and meet with the professors as needed. Complete the required Children on Campus training prior to the start of the program. Required Qualifications• Good communication skills, reliability, and willingness to learn and teach are important for this position. Applicants must have taken at least Calculus 2. A course in Linear Algebra or Discrete Mathematics would be helpful, but is not required. Experience with programming, esp. MATLAB, is preferable. Experience with tutoring or participation in outreach activities is a plus.
