Administrative Assistant to the Director of Special Education Services Reports to :
Director of Special Education Services Employment Status :
Part-time, permanent, 10-month position
Salary Range :
$25.00 - $28.00
Start Date :
As soon as possible ( up to 16 hours)
Position Overview :
The role of Administrative Assistant to the Director of Special Education Services at The Met involves various administrative, clerical, and computer-based information management tasks. This part-time role is designed to ensure compliance with all federal, state and district regulations and guidelines.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities :
  • Data entry for the RIDE Census (IEP services/evaluations) and maintaining accurate records in a timely manner, requires a knowledge of federal and state timelines.
  • Data entry and oversight of medicaid activity, requires a knowledge of Medicaid activities related to case management, reporting, and reimbursements.
  • Process submitted IEPs and related paperwork, reviewing for accuracy and compliance.
  • Track, organize, and maintain confidential files on all special education students and students on 504 plans. Monitor the gathering and disbursement of various student documents.
  • Attend RIDE training meetings as required
  • Respond to and request records from sending districts and outside professionals via email, mail, and/or fax for incoming students
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Special Education Services by maintaining current and accurate student files, assist with data collection for audits, keep inventory of office supplies and equipment, special education testing materials, and place orders utilizing the purchasing system.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements :
  • Associates Degree or working toward Associates degree
  • Familiarity with State and Federal regulations related to the special education process
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google products
  • Experience in an administrative/clerical office setting
  • Knowledge of 504 and IEP records (preferred)

Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 20.0 per week
