Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Take the next step in your educational support career by working as a paraprofessional in a dynamic high school environment near Providence, RI. This full-time, contract position offers a unique opportunity to provide meaningful assistance to students and collaborate closely with professionals dedicated to fostering student success. In this role, you will be working onsite alongside a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), providing direct support to an 11th-grade student. Your contributions will play a critical part in ensuring the student's academic engagement and independence throughout the school day, from 7:30 AM to 1:52 PM.
Ideal Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role Familiarity working with students who have visual impairments or willingness to learn specialized strategies Patience, adaptability, and excellent communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and related service professionals Commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment Reliable, punctual, and organized in daily responsibilities High school diploma or equivalent required; additional relevant coursework a plusKey Responsibilities:
Provide direct support and assistance to an 11th-grade student during classroom activities Collaborate closely with the TVI and other school staff to implement individualized learning strategies Assist with adaptations of material and classroom setup as needed Encourage student participation and facilitate independence Offer encouragement and foster a positive educational atmosphere Ensure student safety and well-being throughout the school day This is an opportunity to make a tangible daily impact in the life of a student, while gaining valuable experience in a supportive educational environment.
