Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a difference each day by supporting student success as a paraprofessional in an engaging educational environment. This full-time contract opportunity focuses on collaborating closely with a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), providing essential assistance to a grade 11 student onsite throughout the school day.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Prior experience working with students in an educational setting preferred Skill and sensitivity in providing academic and behavioral support Strong teamwork abilities and a collaborative approach to partnering with other education professionals, including TVIs Resourceful, flexible, and detail-oriented mindset Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Commitment to creating an inclusive and encouraging learning experience for all students
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist the TVI in implementing instructional plans, classroom accommodations, and tailor support to meet the unique needs of a high school student with visual impairment Help foster an accessible learning environment by preparing and adapting materials Encourage student independence while offering guidance and encouragement Support classroom management and monitor student progress under the supervision of licensed educators Accompany the student in various school settings, ensuring safety and engagement Maintain a respectful, patient approach at all times
