Full-time Position Summary The Assistant Preschool Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for young children. This role assists with implementing daily activities, fostering social and emotional development, and ensuring the overall well-being of all children in care. Key Responsibilities Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, and rest time Encourage positive behavior and model appropriate interactions Assist with daily routines, including diapering, toileting, and handwashing Communicate effectively with the Lead Teacher regarding student needs and progress Prepare classroom materials and learning centers as directed Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and center policies Maintain confidentiality of children and families Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Experience working with young children preferred CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Ability to pass required background checks Skills & Abilities Patient, nurturing, and dependable Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to engage with children at their developmental level Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 40 lbs Frequent sitting, standing, bending, and active movement Ability to supervise children both indoors and outdoors Work Environment Fast-paced, child-centered setting Requires close interaction with children throughout the day May include exposure to illness, noise, and varying activity levels Additional Expectations Maintain professionalism at all times Be punctual, reliable, and consistent in attendance Participate in staff meetings and required trainings
