ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
Ensure the safety and security of each child in your care Nurture children through purposeful programming, implement mission based, age-appropriate curricula as set forth by the lead teacher. Develop and maintain positive relationships with all youth in your care Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues. Provides and welcomes ongoing positive dialog and relations with YMCA families. Complete continuing education annual requirements. Maintain excellent room appearance and proper maintenance and use of equipment, supplies, and materials. Learn and actively implement YMCA Social and Emotional Curriculum, Conscious Discipline. Completes opening and closing procedures as required. Follow all childcare policies and procedures as set forth in the childcare employ handbook Applies all YMCA safety and emergency procedures and state and local codes. Accurately complete an incident/accident report for each incident/accident and submit and report it in accordance with staff training.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 16 years of age. Be able to lift 25 lbs Have an understanding of growth and development Meet qualifications needed for South Dakota State Childcare Licensing CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required within 60 days of hire, other YMCA required training within 60 days of hire. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Be passionate about the YMCA mission and vision and must personally advocate and demonstrate the core values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring. Basic knowledge of computers.
