Summer Camp Teaching Assistants 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars United States $620.83 a week - Temporary, Full-time Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth 78 reviews $620.83 a week - Temporary, Full-time The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth has exciting summer employment opportunities for enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teaching Assistants ( in subject area of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Writing, Humanities ) in our summer programs for academically advanced students in 5th - 12th grade. Responsibilities The core responsibilities of teaching assistants (TAs) are: tutoring students assisting with class paperwork teaching the class as requested by the instructor assisting with administrative tasks such as note-taking and photocopying generally helping to ensure that the class runs smoothly. At 7th Grade and Above sites, TAs also supervise evening class sessions. TAs in science classes must assist with class demonstrations, help keep the course's inventory, and prepare, teach, and clean up after lab sessions. Desired Qualifications 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience Relevant coursework to the course you are a TA for Experience working with youth is strongly preferred Must be 18 years or older
Sites and Dates:
Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA. Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA UC Santa Cruz in Santa Cruz, CA. Two, 3 week sessions are offered over the summer. Dates vary by site but are generally mid June - mid July for session 1 and mid July - early August for session 2. •
HOUSING AND FOOD PROVIDED.
