Job Description

Classroom Assistant Knoxville Montessori School is seeking a dependable, collaborative Classroom Assistant to support students and guides in a Montessori classroom. Classroom placement will be determined according to the selected candidate's experience, strengths, and the needs of the school. The Classroom Assistant helps maintain a safe, organized, and respectful learning environment while supporting student independence and the daily work of the classroom.
Responsibilities include:
Actively supervising students throughout the school day Supporting classroom routines, transitions, lunch, recess, and dismissal Assisting students while encouraging age-appropriate independence Preparing, organizing, and caring for classroom materials and environments Reinforcing expectations and redirecting behavior consistently Following the direction of and collaborating with the lead guide Communicating relevant student information promptly and professionally Following school safety, confidentiality, and student-support procedures Participating in required meetings, training, and school events Qualified candidates should demonstrate reliability, patience, sound judgment, effective communication, and genuine respect for children. Previous experience working with children is required. Montessori experience is preferred but not required.
Schedule:
7:25am- 4:10pm with 45 minute lunch break
Compensation:
30,000- 36,000 Start date: Immediate Opening
