In this role, you will work alongside a Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where toddlers aged 1 to 3 can explore, learn, and grow. You will play a vital role in supporting early developmental milestones, managing daily classroom routines, and building positive relationships with families. What You'll Do Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, sensory activities, and play-based learning experiences. Provide attentive care to toddlers, including assisting with diapering, toileting, handwashing, and meal/snack times. Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and hygienic classroom environment in compliance with state licensing standards. Supervise children closely during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and well-being at all times. Observe and document children's daily progress, behavior, and developmental milestones, sharing updates with parents and team members. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with infants or toddlers in a licensed childcare facility or school setting. Ability to meet Tennessee Department of Human Services (DHS) background check and fingerprinting requirements. Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it within the first 30 days of employment. Physical stamina to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, bend, and sit on the floor for extended periods. Nice To Haves Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or coursework in Early Childhood Education. Previous experience working with childcare management software or parent communication apps (e.g., Brightwheel, Tadpoles). Familiarity with Tennessee child care licensing regulations.
