Job Description

Position Announcement Aviation Maintenance Technology Associate Instructor The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest is seeking a qualified applicant for the full-time position of Aviation Maintenance Technology Instructor. This position is in Newbern, Tennessee and is responsible for delivering instruction in General, Airframe, and Powerplant in accordance with the FAA Part 147 requirements and the Aviation Maintenance Technology curriculum.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma or degree, or higher-level post-secondary credential in Aviation Maintenance Technology or Aeronautical Sciences. Hold current FAA certification with a rating in Airframe and Powerplant. Minimum three (3) years of work experience in aviation maintenance. Working knowledge of FAA standards. Proficiency inspecting, servicing and repairing aircraft. Knowledge of troubleshooting airframe and powerplant aircraft systems. Understanding of industry recognized, FAA approved protocols and safety practices. Knowledge of proper tool control methods, appropriate tools, and equipment used to repair aircraft. Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of integrating audio/visual instructional tools into classroom delivery. Ability to maintain accurate student records and grade reporting in a digital learning environment. Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both secondary and post-secondary students.
GENERAL DUTIES
Deliver instruction for teaching all phases of General, Airframe, and Powerplant subjects according to FAA standards and policies. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned the A.M.T program and FAA standards. Establish and maintain professional working relationships with students, faculty, administrative staff, the public, and aviation industry professionals. Monitor and evaluate student progress in the program. Actively participate in student recruitment and engage regularly with aviation industry representatives, including the Federal Aviation Administration, to align educational resources with aviation workforce needs. Perform related tasks and other duties as assigned.
